It feels like forever since I've been able to say this, but last weekend, I had the WHOLE weekend to myself. No plans, no obligations, nothing. I've never wanted anything more. Glorious! Because I haven't had much time to myself to wander around and explore more of the city lately, one of the things I decided to do was hit up one of the local farmer's markets. After some researching, I decided to make a little bit of a trek to hit up Fondy Farmer's Market. It seemed big and organized, and many of the vendors were local farmers with fresh produce, which is exactly what I was looking for! As a side note, I have seriously only been to one farmer's market in my entire life, so I was kinda nervous. Yes, I'm a freak. I think I'm about the only person on the planet who would get nervous about something like that, but in my defense, it was mostly just because I didn't know what to expect. Much to my surprise, I survived. ;) At first, I just walked around taking it all in and trying to figure out what all the vegetables even were, ha! Eventually, I just started picking out items, handing over my money, and before you know it, I headed for home with a few large bags of goodies! A little onion, a little garlic, a little spinach, a little green pepper, and lots of spicy little peppers. How fun! I really enjoyed it and will most definitely be going back again. Probably Saturday morning, actually! Stay tuned to see some of the seriously awesome meals I've been making with the ingredients I purchased. I could get used to this! :)
