T-13 Days

Howdy folks! Just wanted to pop in and tell you about an exciting little adventure I will be having in T-13 days. I'm going on a houseboat trip on the Mississippi!!! Yes, that's right. In less than two weeks, I will be cruisin' the 'ol Miss and enjoying a MUCH needed (and what I like to think is well-deserved) vacation! This li'l trip has been a few months in the making, but it's coming up fast. I am going, along with L and some La Crosse friends, and I couldn't be more excited! I can't even lie, the job has been severely stressing me out lately for a few different reasons, so this couldn't come at a more perfect time. I know, I have a job, so I shouldn't complain, but sometimes ya just need to get away! Anyway, I don't know if you're familiar with houseboats, we did it once when we were kids, and I remember loving it. That being said, it's been a LONG time since that experience. For this trip, there are somewhere between 10-12 of us going at this point, and the model of houseboat we're taking is the Sharpe. Look at those specs and tell me you're not jealous, because I don't think that's possible! ;) Believe it or not, there are FIVE queen-sized sleeping areas. That's pretty impressive! Not only that, but there are also a few other exciting features like a TV,  fridge, oven/stove, grill, and an upper party deck with water slide. Yeah. I'm pretty sure I'm never gonna get off this thing. Well, except for when we dock at various sandbars and I feel the need to get off to lounge and relax on the beach. :) I'm hoping to have lots of pictures to share after the trip, so stay tuned. But for now, I just wanted to get you guys all excited for me and my upcoming trip, ha!

You Like 'a Me Mustache?

I don't think this video requires much of  an introduction, but while L was here this weekend, he whipped out his cell phone and showed me his mustache app. I'd never seen it before, and because he had had a few drinks in his system from when me, him, and my mom went to Barnacle Buds, he gave me this little gem of a video that makes me laugh so hard. Between the crazy eyes, the weird accent, and the odd commentary, I'm not sure it could get much better! Perhaps you won't find it as hilarious as I did, but man, this could perk me up on a bad day in a heartbeat. Oh, and don't mind my crazy laugh. ;)

Hitched!

As mentioned in my last post, I was home this past weekend to see the fam and to celebrate the wedding of my cousin Dan and his long time lady, Paige. The wedding was slightly smaller than I expected, but overall, it was a pretty good time! We had a good chunk of time between the ceremony and reception, so I just spent that time hangin' with the 'rents. Once we got to the reception, I got to socialize with family and friends, and that was really nice! My one gripe about the venue is that there is a bar and restaurant attached to the banquet hall, so in the down time, people head over to the bar area, and then it can be really difficult to get them back into the hall for the meal or dance. If I were getting married, I'd be hesitant to have my wedding there for that reason alone. I understand that people wander, but this place just gives far too many opportunities for that, ha! Anyway, the intro of the wedding party was pretty great (the DJ gave us a little history about all of the people in the wedding party), and then during the dance, there was a part where the DJ told everyone how Dan and Paige met and then read some words that they'd each written to each other. It was so sweet and I almost cried! I spent some time dancing and just having a good time, and then of course, Sunday came too soon. I hung out in Colby for awhile that day and got a later start back to Milwaukee than I wanted. However, I don't regret it considering I hadn't been there for 3 months. Hopefully it won't be that long until the next time! Until then, enjoy a few photos from the day!
